I just finished the 2nd book last night and was curious to hear what others have thought about it.
Since we're not supposed to give anything away (does that apply to the books?), specifically I was interested to hear your thoughts and opinions on Dexter's line of thinking with Cody, should or shouldn't Dexter get married, where is Danco and Doakes and the dark humor.
I particularly found the humor in this book much, much funnier and even found myself laughing out loud! It was excellent!

Oh! I'd be curious to hear what other people thought of it as well. I've only read the first book so far (hoping to get the other two this summer).
As for book spoilers go I think as long as the title is clear what you're talking about (like this one says its about the 2nd book) It should be okay to talk about what happens in it. I've been reading spoilers about the books myself.
I'm really looking forward to seeing whats going on with Cody's darker side and seeing if the show decides to incorporate that aspect of the book into the series.

Ok, so "Dexter" you've read the first book. I don't know about you, but the ending surprised the hell out of me! I was not expecting that for anything! I realized as I was reading that last part (you know, you killed who...) my mouth was agape. Lol.
The 2nd book, of course stood on its own, as it was completely different from the 2nd season on tv. But the plot was interesting and I although I look forward to reading the 3rd (and will pick it up today), I get annoyed when they leave it all open. There's no closure, so I'm assuming (incorrectly?) that the story should continue into the 3rd, but we'll see.
You mentioned Cody's darker side... don't know what spoilers you've read about book 2, but especially towards the end, when Dexter is contemplating his life and how close he came to dying a couple of times, it really dives into Dexter's thinking about Cody and what he wants to do in reference to that. Sorry, I'm not trying to be vague, but I didn't want to spoil it for others.
If the show went off on their own plot for season 2, I don't see why they won't continue, but again I guess we'll have to wait and see.

hahah i know what you mean. But i think I was more surprised by who wasnt killed in the book. It was a good surprise Maybe the 3rd book will give more closure than the 2nd did, but i know what you mean, that can get annoying. Let me know how the 3rd book is!

Good point, I was also very surprised as to who WASN'T killed... especially since I saw both seasons before beginning the books!
I will let you know how the 3rd book plays itself out.
