"I did enjoy it" Dexter said, almost surprised himself that he could enjoy someone else's kill as much as he enjoyed his. He wondered if it was because this was his flesh and blood. There was a connection there that he didnt fully understand but it let him feel things, more than he was used to when he was around Rudy.
Dexter smiled as Rudy approved of his suggestion to cut up Marc together. He reached over to the table and grabbed one of larger knives as Rudy offered him the head. "I'd be honored to" He replied, not wasting any time before he started cutting.

Rudy's smiled remained on his face. "I'm glad you're feeling comfortable." What they both were doing together was something Rudy never imagined would happen, yet he always held out some hope for it. He thought to himself just how well all this was going right now.
Rudy watched Dexter's enthusiasm and precision while he cut Marc's head off. He wanted to say what a great job he was doing, but Rudy didn't want to interrupt Dexter's moment and skill. He figured that could wait until later. So, Rudy went to Marc's legs, took a bone saw from the table and cut Marc's feet at the ankles. The saw seemed to cut smooth like butter. Next he went up on his legs where he cut each just below the knee. Rudy always liked separating the knee rather than keeping it attached to one other part of the leg. Further up he cut Marc's thighs at the hip, then his abdomen above his hip bones.
He turned to Dexter to see how things were going for him. When Dexter became aware Rudy was looking at him, he smiled. "Doing good?"

Anyone else would have thought that feeling comfortable doing this with someone else was wrong. Even Harry would have told him to never let his guard down enough to show someone else this side. But Dexter found himself going more and more against Harry's ideals. Harry had kept the information that Dexter had a brother from him, Harry wasnt perfect.
Dexter finished severing the head from the body, leaving it in place as he then moved on to the arms while Rudy worked from the legs up. Dexter seperated the arms from the torso at the shoulder. He tried to make the cuts appear different than either his own or the ice truck killer's style. Luckily he knew both types of work well, so it was hard to make sure he didnt replicate them.
Dexter looked up after a few moments, sensing that Rudy was looking at him. He smiled back at him. "Doing great....it looks like we're almost done with him"

"Yes, it sure looks that way. We just have to pack his limbs in these bags and load him up in the trunk", Rudy replied as he had already begun the task. Things were going very smoothly and Rudy wasn't nervous at all about any of this; a kill together, a new venue and even a new disposal method.
They got Marc's parts all packed and loaded, cleaned up all the supplies and any mess that remained. Rudy went around the side of the door to quickly change clothes and pack the clothes he wore during the kill in another bag and put that into the trunk.
"All right, Dex, are you ready to go bring his car to the compactor?"

Dexter nodded as his brother informed him that they just needed to pack the bags into the trunk. He almost didnt want this to end. Everything had gone so well, and even though he was sharing the task with someone else, he still felt fulfilled. It didnt lessen the excitement or the satisfaction he got. It may have even heightened it. Dexter aided his brother in putting the bags in and shut the trunk once everything was inside. Dexter looked around the area once more, checking that they hadnt forgotten anything.
"Yeah, let's take him to his new home" Dexter agreed. He wasnt used to disposing of bodies like this, but it seemed to be as good of a method as the one he normally used.

Rudy was watching Dexter load the bags into the trunk. He seemed to notice a look on Dexter's face. Was it a look of confusion? Maybe even unfulfillment? Rudy definitely did not want Dexter to regret this, not that he would, but he didn't want to leave any room for those emotions. As far as Rudy was concerned, this kill had gone so smoothly and they both seemed to enjoy it very much.
"I know neither of us are used to this method of disposal, but at least we're in agreement that we had to do this one differently than our usual ways. This place is secure, I can guarantee it", Rudy smirked.
Remembering Dexter's look before and making sure everything was good between them, Rudy asked, "Dexter? What are you thinking?"

“I believe you that its safe. I know from your work that you wouldn’t act without having it be controlled…just like me” Dexter said with a bit of a smile on his face. “Its not how I’d have done it on my own, not the same ritual… there’s no trophy…but I know this is the best way for this. “
Dexter could tell that Rudy knew that something was bothering him a bit. He picked up on it. He read him as well as Deb could…maybe even better. Was their blood bond even stronger? “It’s going to sound pathetic” Dexter said, believing that feeling human emotions at a time like this was pathetic. They had just cut into pieces the man they killed and he was getting sentimental. “I was thinking I didn’t want this to end.”

Rudy nodded and gave a empathetic smile as Dexter described his feelings. "It's not pathetic brother, I feel the same way. And thanks for sharing with me what you were truly feeling. It means a lot to me."
Killing together was something Rudy had wished for so long and it's happening! What a tremendous rush! "You know, we can plan another right away? Is there anyone you had in mind?" Rudy paused, then added, "and we can even do this next one anyway YOU want, even taking a trophy for each of us." There was a sparkle of mischief in Rudy's eyes.

Dexter found that surprising. The Ice Truck Killer was thanking him for sharing his feelings with him, not looking at him with disgust at his display of such feeling. His brother seemed to have such a better grasp on emotions than Dexter did, but the more time they spent together, the more it seemed that Dexter was starting to feel.
Dexter smiled as Rudy spoke of planning a new one, one that he could take a trophy back from. He had missed his blood slide, but it was still a great experience. Dexter had another idea as well to get closer to his brother. "I do have someone in mind...if you like boating, maybe you could come out on mine this weekend, we could discuss our options, get to know each other better"

Rudy kept looking at Dexter, smiling. "I'm glad you're connecting with your emotions, on different levels. I think that's progress."
Rudy's ears perked up when Dexter mentioned he had someone in mind for their next kill together. "You do, huh? Is it anyone I know?" Rudy reflected for a moment and realized that may have been a stupid thing to say, but he quickly continued, "I love boating and would be happy to join you on the water this weekend."
Rudy's mind was going a mile a minute. What could Dexter be referring to when he wants to get to know him better? Is he merely curious and ecstatic to have such a bond (albeit a strange one) with his brother? Or does he have something else in mind?
"So, is it anything you'd want to share now or do I have to wait until we're on the boat?"

"I didnt think I had emotions to connect to until recently" Dexter stated honestly. He had never connected with much in the past. Good or bad emotions both escaped him. But now it was as if the part of him had been missing was his found. He may not be as complete as normal people were, but for Dexter...Rudy was right, this was progress.
"I do" Dexter smiled at Rudy's enthusiasm. "It's someone I've been watching for awhile" Dexter told him. He had his eye on this guy for awhile but hadnt had the proof he needed until recently. "A professional photographer, taking less than decent pictures of underage boys, apparently one didnt like it too much, told his parents about it, they were planning to go to the police when the boy was found strangled. The pornography charges were lost due to a technicality in the evidence collection, and the defense attorney made the murder look like a suicide...it didnt even make it to court"
Dexter's smile grew as Rudy accepted his offer to go boating. He realized after Rudy gave his answer that he had been afraid of Rudy saying no, that he'd face that rejection from him, but his brother hadn't disappointed him yet. "I'm glad to hear it" He told him. "And its no surprise...I just want to learn more about you...my brother" He said saying the last words slowly, wondering if he'd ever be used to them.

Rudy listened intently to Dexter describe the person whom he already chose for their next victim. He began to shake his head, "Man, those scum are always a pleasure to get rid of! I'm ready anytime you nead me, Dex."
But then Rudy changed his facial expressions and began smiling when Dexter said he wanted to learn more about him. "I know that's still tough - calling me brother, let alone believing it. But I'm enjoying your acceptance of it. This could have been much more difficult, you know." Rudy paused. "And I'll tell you anything you want to know. I have no secrets to hide from you." Rudy's smiled widened.
"Believe or not, there's many things I'd like to learn about you, too, so I'm sure we have some interesting conversations to look forward to."
"So, any idea on how you want to get this guy?"

Dexter smiled as Rudy seemed to approve of the next target he had chosen. It was a relief to Dexter that his brother didn't seem opposed to going after criminals. It may not have been who the Ice Truck Killer would go after, but he seemed more than willing to accomodate Dexter to make him comfortable. It was something Dexter wasn't used to. With his father it had always been Harry's code, or nothing at all. Killing with someone else would definitely go against the code now, but it felt right, and Dexter wasn't going to fight it.
"It was very..unexpected" Dexter said honestly as Rudy spoke of how hard this must be for him to get used to having a brother. Dexter still couldn't get over how he had been able to block the memories of his brother's existence for so long. "I do accept it...thank you for your patience, this could have been a lot more difficult for you too" He told him, knowing that things easily could have gone bad when Rudy had figured out that Dexter didn't remeber him, he could have been angry..the brothers could have ended in a bloodbath.
He appreciated Rudy saying that he had no secrets, and was surprised that he actually believed him. He was used to people lying, and to reading between those lies. He smiled as Rudy said there was more he waned to know about Dexter. "I would have thought by now you'd have seen everything there is about me. You knew everything about me before I knew you existed" Dexter wondered what there was possibly left for Rudy to learn. He had been in Dexter's home, he had seen his blood slides, he knew before they re-met that Dexter was a killer.
"He lives alone and works out of his house so it might be best to get him there. I need to watch him a little more to see when he'll be out that we can be waiting for him when he comes home"
