Rudy arrived at the parking garage at 8 PM, prepared and ready to go. The excitement, exhilaration and anticipation was at a level that Rudy never experienced before. This was going to be his and Dexter's first kill together, after all.
As he turned a corner to get in position where he can see the doorway that leads from inside the building to the garage and Marc's car, he noticed Dexter was already there. He was pleasantly surprised at his early arrival, since the intended victim was due out sometime around 9 PM.
Rudy's faced brightened. "Hey there, so glad you're here and so soon, too! How are you feeling about this?"
Rudy was hoping Dexter was feeling what he was. It made everything much more synchronistic.
"I have everything I need and the warehouse is all set up, just waiting for us. Are you good?"

Dexter had gotten to the parking garage early, even earlier than they had planned which he logically knew allowed them plenty of time, even if Marc happened to finish up early (which based on Rudy’s extensive research was probably unlikely). He was more excited about this kill. Usually it was just a planned release of his tension. He enjoyed them of course, but it was more like a necessity. This seemed like more. Having his brother there to work with him just made it more exhilarating.
Dexter heard the footsteps behind him and turned seeing that Rudy had made it, he was proving to be someone Dexter could depend on to be good on his word. “Hey, I’ve been looking forward to it since we started planning. I almost don’t want it to end” He said, feeling more alive by the prospect of their kill together.
“Yeah, I have everything I need with me too” Dexter said, glancing towards the door to the building before turning back to Rudy. “Had an interesting case this morning, seems someone found a hacked up woman in a bag by the mini-mall. Luckily there wasn’t much to go on or I may have had to cancel if they kept me later”
Even though the victim hadn’t been done in the Ice Truck Killer’s pattern, and none of the detectives had believed it was connected, Dexter had the feeling this was his brother’s work. Perhaps someone with social skills better than his would have brought up the subject more subtly or at a time when they weren’t ready to kill again, but Dexter wasn’t like that. It was on his mind, and to him he had enough time to mention it before they’d need to make a move on their victim.

"Great, glad you have everything. But of course, why wouldn't you, right?" Rudy said with a smirk. "So, glad you're here early! And that you seem just as excited as I am."
Rudy listened, smiling, as Dexter described his morning. "Glad you didn't have to cancel because of that... woman." Rudy struggled in his mind whether or not to share with Dexter that that was his handiwork, then finally decided to go for it. "Well, I had to make sure that warehouse was perfect for us and what better way to do that, then to... simulate the scenario?"
Rudy watched to see Dexter's reaction, but continued anyway. "I mean, what could I have done with her afterwards? I didn't want anyone on my trail, so I had to change it up." Rudy paused. "Glad the detectives have nothing to go on." Rudy said as his smirk grew.
"So have we decided? Did you want to make the move on Marc? I'd love to see my little brother work!"

Dexter smiled hearing that his brother expected him to be prepared. “I think I am just as excited” He admitted knowing that was rare that any of his feelings ever truly compared to anothers but he believed this time they were in sync.
Dexter grinned as he listened to his brother admit that the woman they found earlier was his work. Dexter’s instincts had been right that it was him. “I kind of thought that might have been you…but don’t worry no one else has a clue, its good you changed things up, it’ll keep them busy” He said.
“As long as you don’t mind, I’ll try to give you a good show taking him” Dexter was just as excited to have someone to show off in front of, someone who could appreciate the skill that it took to really pull off something like this.

Rudy felt very relieved that Dexter didn't seem to be bothered by the woman that Rudy killed and dumped (since it didn't follow Dexter's code). "Great, thanks for the update. Glad to know they have nothing. It will be a nice distraction from what we're planning tonight." Rudy's grin grew bigger.
Rudy smiled and nodded when Dexter said he'd give him a good show. "Oh I'm sure you will. I have every confidence in you."
Just then they heard the door to the stairwell open. They looked and saw that Marc was early. "It's a good thing we got here early, huh?" Rudy whispered to Dexter, with a gleam in his eye. "Whenever you're ready brother...."

Dexter would have been surprised himself that he wasn’t very bothered by Rudy’s latest kill if he wasn’t so fascinated. Ever since discovering he had a brother like himself, it made the murders Dexter knew about all the more interesting. “A distraction is always good” Dexter said returning the grin.
Dexter then turned hearing the noise from the door opening. He backed up slightly so he was better hidden around the corner as he watched. “I guess it pays to be prepared” He responded, reaching into his pocket and putting on a pair of black gloves. He had been thinking about this moment from the time they had decided that Dexter would take Marc. He wondered what method would be best. What would impress his brother the most. Had Rudy ever observed him before, he did after all know already that Dexter was a killer, maybe he had watched him for months before…that was something they could discuss after. Now was the time they had been waiting for.
Dexter crossed over the lot moving against the wall, benefiting from the fact that Marc was facing the opposite direction to get to his car. Although injecting him with sort of anesthetic would have been the quickest method and allowed for the least amount of resistance, Dexter had rejected it along with other favorites like a piece of wire around the neck. He had decided to go back to basics, to subdue his victim with nothing but his bare hands.
As Dexter moved closer and closer to his victim he had a flash of memory of Harry warning him never to let anyone in on his secret or he’d be executed in prison and here he was, allowing another person to witness the monster inside of him. He was actually showing off. Harry would never have approved, but the adrenaline building in Dexter quickly pushed aside any doubts that were brewing because of Harry.
The moment was there. He stood behind Marc and before the man had time to react, Dexter’s arm was around his throat as he pulled straight back, locking his arms together to get a good grip knowing it was only a matter of time now. He tensed up his muscles as Marc fought to get away, keeping his victim under control until the moment he felt him go limp. Dexter waited a few seconds to make sure Marc wasn’t faking him out before releasing his choke hold and letting the body slump to the pavement of the parking lot. Dexter looked up, half expecting to see a horrified look on Rudy’s face, and half expecting that he may not even still be there.

Rudy stayed back but watched Dexter prepare to take Marc and stalk him with such excitement and intrigue. Rudy thought Dexter would most certainly use some sort of tranquilizer and inject Marc with the needle, but when Dexter used an efficient and powerful choke hold, Rudy's excitement increased. He was impressed with his brother's dexterity! He knew Dexter was intelligent, organized and careful, but it's another experience to watch it all unfold before his eyes.
When Rudy saw Dexter release Marc and let him fall to the floor, he went up to them, maintaining a lookout of sorts. Rudy was surprised to see the expression on Dexter's face when he turned around. Rudy smiled, looked Dexter straight in the eye and said, "Excellent, brother! You're impressive." Rudy still saw that look on Dexter's face. "What? Did you think I was going to be disgusted by this? I think this brought me closer to you."
Rudy wasn't expecting a reply, but he wanted Dexter to clearly know how much Rudy supported him in these... endeavors. "Ok, let's get him in the car. Grab his keys and pop the trunk. I'll get his legs."

When Rudy was still there, and looking pleased and not disgusted by him, that was when this whole thing seemed real. The planning had been exciting, but knowing that Rudy really could accept seeing this was different. Harry knew what Dexter did, but once he caught him, that look on his face…things were never the same between them. But Rudy was pleased. Rudy was the one person on earth that would accept him for who he was. If Rudy thought that watching Dexter subdue their victim brought them closer, imagine how they’d feel once the blood started flowing?
Dexter nodded as Rudy suggested getting him in the car. He knelt down and reached into Marc’s pocket to retrieve the key, popping open the trunk a moment later. Dexter then lifted Marc’s upper body as he and his brother put the unconscious man into the trunk. When Rudy’s hands were free, Dexter tossed the keys over to him. “You know where we’re headed, you drive”

After Rudy and Dexter put Marc in the trunk, Rudy turned toward Dexter, just in time to catch Marc's car keys. Dexter asked Rudy to drive since he knew the location of the abandoned warehouse. "Sure thing", Rudy replied.
Both Rudy and Dexter seemed excited and charged up, but neither of them spoke for a few minutes. As Rudy drove into South Miami, he said, "Dexter, I can't tell you how incredible I feel right now. This is what I had hoped we could do together." Rudy didn't ask for a response, but he still felt the need to show Dexter his approval.
Rudy turned down a long, dark driveway and turned off the car's lights, keeping the yellow parking lights on. He pulled up to the warehouse entrance, then put the car in park and turned off the engine. "This is it. Everything is set up inside. Let me go unlock the doors and turn the light on."
Rudy did what he said and returned to the car where Dexter already had the trunk open, ready to go. "Glad to see your motivation", Rudy said with a smile and a laugh. "I was going to pull the car in, but we can get him in first, no problem."
They brought Marc, who was still unconscious, into the warehouse and onto the table. Rudy went back outside and pulled the car through the wide double doors, then closed them and locked it. "Duct tape or plastic wrap, Dex?"

Rudy may not have been expecting a response as they drove, but Dexter, who usually prefered not having to talk much, actually felt like giving one. "I never imagined I'd have anyone to share this with"
He watched as Rudy pulled over to the warehouse and got out to unlock the doors and get the lights. Dexter figured while Rudy was inside he might as well make sure Marc was ready to go in. He got out of the car and opened the trunk, glad to see their victim was still unconscious. "I guess I got a little ahead of myself" He said with a grin.
Once they had Marc inside and on the table Dexter had a chance to look around the room. Rudy really had everything prepared. There was a tray of instruments they could use, duct tape, plastic wrap, plastic bags...anything he could have wanted. "Whichever you prefer" Dexter told Rudy, giving up some of his control over the situation, but not afraid to do so.

Rudy smiled as Dexter responded to his support. It made Rudy feel good inside.
"I'm glad you took the initiative to check on Marc in the trunk", Rudy smiled. "And you can be ahead of me all you want." Rudy liked how excited Dexter was. And the truth of the matter is, Rudy doesn't think there's anything Dexter could do that would get him angry, unless he turns on him, which of course, he hopes would never happen.
Rudy saw Dexter reaction to the preparations and he seemed to give his approval by his facial expression. "Ok, then if you don't mind, I'd prefer to use duct tape, since it holds together well."
Rudy put on his gloves, took the tape and began to bind Marc to the table, quickly and evenly. He finished as he put 2 pieces over Marc's mouth.
Rudy turned to Dexter, " Did you want to have the honors of killing him or would you like me to do it? Now, we already decided to cut him up and place the bags in his trunk before we compact the car, so it doesn't matter which method is used. I always prefer to strangle. That makes me feel really good, but in this case, there seems to be more efficient ways to end this man's miserable existance."
"Your thoughts?"

"I guess I'm not used to working with others" Dexter commented as Rudy gave his approval on Dexter taking the initiative to check on Marc. It was true, even at work, Dexter rarely worked with the other people in forensics. He always thought he worked best alone, but maybe with Rudy it would be even better.
"Duct tape is fine" Dexter agreed, watching Rudy excitedly as he bound their victim. There was no more hesitation in Rudy's movements than there ever was in Dexter's.
Dexter didnt have to think too long about Rudy's question of who should do the killing. Normally he was eager to get some release in a kill, but not this time. "I'd like to watch you work, learn from the master" he told his brother.

Rudy nodded as Dexter explained he's not used to working with others. "I can understand that. I'm the same way." Rudy feels so connected to his brother right now.
Rudy listened with an internal laugh to Dexter mention he wanted to watch him work and referred to him as a master. "Dexter, that's funny. I wouldn't call myself a master, that's for sure", Rudy said with a smile.
Rudy looked Marc over and thought about how he wanted to end his life. "Well, he's nicely bound together and still unconscious. I enjoy seeing my victim's life slowly recede out of their eyes, but that's where we differ, brother. Tonight we'll do this in a style you're familiar with."
Rudy turned toward the table and grabbed a large knife with a serrated edge on one side. He looked at his victim again, then closed his eyes. He wanted to feel his pleasure and anticipation in this moment, which was building to a frenzy. Suddenly he opened his eyes, raised his right arm and brought the knife down into Marc's chest, near his heart with a sharp movement. He raised and lowered the knife three more times stabbing in the same general area, quick and deep.
When he was satisfied his victim was dead, he again closed his eyes to feel his pleasure. When he returned from this place in his mind, he realized he wasn't alone. For a moment Rudy forgot about Dexter. He turned toward Dexter and said, "I know it wasn't too original, but it seemed appropriate."
Rudy took a towel to wipe his face of the blood that splattered from his victim. "Want to cut him up or want me to continue with this one? If so I wasn't planning on doing exact cuts since this is not my usual method anyway, but I know you do get some excitement from the process."

Dexter watched intently to everything at his brother was doing. Though Rudy may have denied it, Dexter had seen his work already and did think of him as a master at this. He had done things Dexter never would have thought of trying. And everything he did, he did out in the open. Dexter never would have dared to create displays of his bodies for the police. He couldnt risk something like that, but Rudy was fearless, and he didnt make mistakes either. Dexter knew he could learn from him.
Dexter moved beside Rudy as he grabbed the knife, wanting to watch everything that was happening. He watched the knife repeatedly enter Marc, the blood pouring out from his body beneath the duct tape. It was perfect. Dexter could feel the rush just from watching Rudy do it. His heart raced, he felt alive.
Dexter then shook his head as Rudy mentioned it not being original. "No...it was perfect" he said not imagining that this could be going any better than it already was.
Dexter listened to Rudy offer to cut him up. "Why don't we do this part together?" he suggested. "There seems to be enough of him to go around"

Rudy saw how exhilarated Dexter was when he killed Marc. Rudy even thought Dexter, albeit briefly, imagined himself the position Rudy was in during the kill. He understood the excitement, the adrenaline, the pleasure.
Dexter's statement put an approving smile on Rudy's face. "I'm so glad you liked it."
Rudy was pleasantly surprised when Dexter responded that he wanted to cut the victim up together. "That sounds wonderful." Rudy's grin widened, then motioned with his eyes. "Well, on the table there, I have different knives and a couple of bone saws. Take your pick. I'll start with the legs and I would be honored for you to cut his head." Rudy said this last part without really knowing how Dexter would react. He was hopeful Dexter would graciously accept the offer and with enthusiasm.
