So, I am very excited about this site. I just recently got into Dexter, and since the episodes are not on right now, I needed my Dexter fix. My only problem is that I used to play role playing games all the time, but it has been awhile and I am quite rusty. Also, I am new fan of Dexter and I am worried that I don't know that much. There are so many threads already up, I don't know if I just "jump in".
I just don't know where to start!!
Could anybody give me suggestions?

Don't worry if you feel a little rusty, I'm sure you'll be back in the swing of it in no time! I've got a couple suggestions if you're looking for ways to jump in, but its by no means your only ways of getting involved. An easy way to join in is to look for "open" threads - ones that arent specifically for certain characters. A new one was started up recently that's looking for police officers to join in (called "Another Day at the Office"). You can also start up your own open thread and leave it open for other people to join in. You can also try pming certain members if you're interested in a thread with them specifically and seeing if they'd like to do one with you. I'd be happy to do a brother/sister thread with you as well if you have any ideas! Hopefully this gives you some ideas of what you can do.

Welcome to the group!
My first suggestion would be to make sure that you've read all the rules and the "getting started" file. There should hopefully be some things in there that can help you out.
Next you'll want to pick a character and make out a bio. Read some of the ones already up to get an idea of what we're looking for. Some people find that its easier to take a character that is from the show, that way they already know the character's history and personality from watching the show. Others think its easier to create a character that's all their own. So its really up to you.
Once you've gotten the bio posted, and approved if you're taking a character from the show. The actual roleplaying is pretty easy to figure out. Again you might want to look at some of the other posts people have done to see what its like. You basically just write out what your character is doing, thinking, or saying (in third person). Just make sure you dont write any actions or anything for any other characters.
Hopefully that gives you a little start...if you've still got questions feel free to ask more!
