The police may not have been on to Thomas, but that was the perfect case for Dexter to go after. He had spent the last few weeks investigating some cases in which a pattern had caught his attention. The method of killing was always the same, a single attack and the killer was done. Dexter had to admit the man was good at covering his tracks, but Dexter was better. His training from Harry had allowed him to track the killer. His name was Thomas Costello.
Dexter had begun stalking his newest target a few days ago. He kept to the shadows, away far enough not to be seen. But he knew the time was growing closer to when he'd grab his victim. It may even occur tonight.
(OOC: wasnt sure how soon you wanted to get to Dexter taking him)

As Dexter watched Tom, getting closer and closer to him, he noticed the knife he was holding behind his back. It was hard to spot, especially in the dark, but the blade caught a gleam of one of the lights by the bay. Either the man sensed Dexter’s presence, or he was getting ready for another attack. Dexter didn’t want to risk either option, so made up his mind that tonight was the night.
Dexter put on his gloves, preventing him from leaving any fingerprints on anything he came in contact with during the abduction. Dexter moved in quickly, to grab the knife behind his back from him first, dropping it to the ground as he injected an anesthetic into Thomas’ neck.

Dexter smiled as Thomas fell to the floor. The first part of his ritual was already successfully completed. The stalk was successful. Now to move him. Dexter had checked out the yacht earlier and it seemed a perfect place to do this. The harbor was empty at night, almost abandoned looking. No one would be nearby to hear anything. He bent down and dragged the thinner man along the floorboards, heading down to the lower level of the yacht.
When he got there, Dexter already had his supplies ready. All that was left was for Dexter to secure his latest victim. He lifted Thomas onto the metal table and secured him down with shrink wrap, holding the man tightly in place. He then placed a piece of duct tape over his mouth. If he woke up before Dexter was finished setting up, he really didn't need to listen to his screams for help right now.
Dexter hung up the sheets of plastic around the room, using a staple gun to hold them in place. He positioned a light over the man's head. It would get in his eyes, make him squirm a little, and probably even make him sweat as Dexter asked if his victims squirmed like that. It was obvious from Dexter's research that this man's victims were planned kills. The single strike was not one that someone did when it was spontaneous, or out of passion or rage. Dexter had the pictures of Thomas' victims out, ready to show to him when the time was right. He opened up his kit of knives, getting everything he needed set up before he began.

Good he's awake. Just in time. Dexter thought as he started hearing the muffled sounds from his next victim coming from the table. He looked around him. Everything was set up as it should be. He was ready. Dexter watched from behind him as he squirmed between the plastic wrap. "Don't bother...no one can hear you, and you're not going anywhere" He said, his voice dropping a little lower than his normal speech. It was often an unconscious change in tone. Maybe subconsciously he thought it sounded more menacing.
Dexter saw Thomas noticing the pictures. Good. "Recognize them? You killed them all. A single stab to the heart, you never gave them a chance to fight back" Dexter said reaching down and ripping the tape from the man's mouth. In all his stalking there was one question that went unanswered to him. Unlike most of his victims there was no pattern to the killings. It wasnt to protect gang members by killing off witnesses, it wasnt ritualistically always the same age and race of his victims, they werent immigrants who owed him money. It didnt make sense. Dexter pulled over his tray of instruments, taking out his scalpel, but not using it yet. He still had to know, had to put the final piece to the puzzle together before Thomas became his next trophy. "Why them"

Dexter backed up in shock as he heard his victim's words. They were killers? How could Dexter have missed that. None of them had records, but maybe they had escaped the judicial system, just like Dexter's own victims. Was this man like him? Or was he just trying to save himself now? If this man did go after killers of the innocent...and of children, there was no way Dexter could go through with this. Even though the code of Harry was unclear about this type of killer, Dexter wasnt. If he was like him, how could he take this man's life?
Dexter kept his voice low. It almost came out as an intense whisper. Now Dexter was disguising hiimself purposely, keeping himself from being identified should he let him go. "All of them were killers? None of these were just because you got the urge and needed to release the monster?"

"If I find out you lied, or you start changing who you go after...you'll wish you were in hell. Never anyone who doesn't deserve it." Dexter told Thomas moving backwards towards his table of supplies and drawing up another syringe. He drew up less anesthetic this time than the first time. He knew there would still be some in the man's body and couldnt risk an overdose now. He knew this would be enough to knock him out long enough for Dexter to clean up and get away.
"Faster than you think" Dexter said, injecting the man once more. He watched him lose consciousness before picking up the scalpel again and using it to cut the plastic wrap that bound the man. Dexter hurried to gather up his supplies, everything that he had used to make the kill room, along with the pictures of Thomas's victims. Once that was done all that was left was to move Thomas. He didnt want to leave him on the boat. Grabbing him under the arms he drug the man up to the deck and to his victim's car, placing him in the drivers seat and buckling the seat belt. Dexter did like to be safe. You've gotten lucky Mr. Costello. Dexter thought as he closed the door and fled the scene.
