Character Basics
Full Name: Andrew Gabriel Garcia (because I am unoriginal)
Nickname(s): Andy
Age: 27
Appearance
Look: 5"11', dark hair, good build, dresses rather casually since he doesn't have a lot of money to afford fancy, designer suits.
Scars or Tattoos: Has a tattoo on his arm
Portrayed By: Adam Garcia
Personality
Basic Personality: Andrew is simple person. He is dedicated to his job, and doesn’t have much of a life outside of it. He is patient and at first quiet but once you get to know him, he can be more of a talker. He has his moments of sarcasm, but they are not too frequent. He is professional, and does not like talking about his personal life. Because of this, he does whatever he can to direct the focus away from him. He does not like to have close ties to anyone, afraid that it will affect his performance and afraid that whatever friendships or relationships he has, will eventually come to an end.
He is a bit insecure but on the surface he seems confident, and perfectly capable of doing his job. He has a fairly good sense of humor, but doesn’t make too many jokes that often, only sometimes. He prefers to focus on the job with minimal distractions. He doesn’t like talking about how he is feeling, but wouldn’t say no if someone wants to talk about theirs, however he does not always feel comfortable enough to give advice, so sometimes he will just remain quiet and listen. He tries to avoid fights, but there are some things that he can not just sit back and hear; he must react to them, and react he does.
Accent: Has an Australian accent, and while it is not as thick as it once was, it is still there. Is also fluent in Spanish
Occupation: Detective in homicide
History
Birthplace: Australia
Family: Unknown- assumes biological father or mother was part Spanish
History: At the age of 2, Andrew was put in an orphanage and because of this, he has no memory of his real parents. He had tried looking for them, but has always been unsuccessful. The only thing that connects him to them is his name, but even with that, he was unable to find any record of them. He lived in the orphanage until he was ten years old when he was adopted by a seemingly kind family. Unfortunately, they were far from ideal. His ‘mother’ was constantly out of town for business, and his ‘father’ would stay in town, but come home with red stained shirts and although he did not know Adam could see him, he saw him every time, scrubbing his hands clean of the blood.
It wasn’t until Andrew witnessed him commit a murder that he could not just ignore what he saw anymore. He packed his bags, withdrew money from his father’s account, and ran away without a word. He was too afraid to report what he saw to the police and knew that because of whatever his adopted father was doing, he would not call the police to look for him. Andrew’s next stop was Miami. He actually ended up there by accident, but after spending a few days there, applied for citizenship and became an American.
He lived off the money he stole from his father and with a job which was enough to just make it by. He lived in a cheap apartment with a few roommates and put himself through school. He was intelligent, doing very well in his courses. Well enough to get himself a large scholarship which put him through university.
Throughout his high school years, he was also attempting to investigate what his adopted father was doing; why he had killed that man. He was never able to find enough evidence; the only thing he could conclude was that his ‘father’ was a hit man but it definitely wasn’t enough to do anything. Andrew felt helpless and useless. These feelings were what motivated him to be in law enforcement as he wanted to help people in ways that he couldn’t without the proper sources and assistance.
He was a promising officer. He performed his tasks as well as he could, making sure it didn’t do anything less than his full potential. He lives in a simple apartment, nothing extravagant at all. He lives solely off what he earns, which isn’t too much. But it is enough to put food on the table and a roof over his head and for Andrew that is more than enough.
