Rudy can't believe what's he's been missing this whole time - a deep connection to his brother. It seems that they share the same humor; humor the average person would not find funny at all. Humor that would not only get you looks of disgust but also maybe a phone call to a shrink.
"Ok, I will look into warehouses when I go back to work and let you know what I find." As soon as Rudy leaves, he'll get working right on this project. And it wouldn't hurt to find someone new to live quickly.
Rudy acknowledged and considered Dexter's commitments. "No problem, I just want to try to make sure things are in place so there's no heat on us in any direction."
Thinking about everything Rudy has to do today, and being that he's full from a delicious lunch, he realized he needs to get some work done. Looking directly at Dexter, Rudy said with disappointment, "I hate to say this, but I really need to get going and do all this research, not to mention find a new apartment. So, I will look into what I need to and will call you on your cell later today. Does that work for you? Again Dexter, I'm really looking forward to our first together!"
Rudy gathered his belongings and headed toward the door. He turned around at Dexter, "Thanks for the excellent conversation!" Rudy was briefly hesitant, but decided to give Dexter a hug. "Talk to you later." He turned around again and walked out the door towards the stairs.

"Great, let me know if you find something good" Dexter said, not used to putting his trust for this type of research in someone else, but he did trust Rudy's skills. If Rudy told him that the place would be safe for them to go, Dexter would believe him. "Thanks, make sure it doesnt interfere with any commitments you have with work too. I'm sure we can get the scheduling worked out" Dexter said with a smile, thinking it was amusing that they were discussing this like it was just a business meeting or something that needed to be worked around scheduling conflicts.
Dexter nodded as Rudy explained that he needed to go. "Yeah, that works for me. I'll see what research I can do on the guy between now and then....I'm looking forward to this too"
Dexter walked his brother over to the door. "Thanks for the steaks" He said, then surprised by the hug, but after a moment he returned it, feeling a strange warmth as he did. "I'll see you later" He said closing the door behind him. It had been their first meal together after Dexter had discovered the truth. He thought that this relationship was going pretty well so far.

It was the following day and Rudy was excited to let Dexter know how his research went. The clock read 9:30 AM. Rudy thought Dexter would be up by now, so he gave him a call on his cell.
The phone rang three times before Dexter answered. "Hi Dex, it's Rudy. I hope I didn't wake you. I wanted to tell you how everything went yesterday." Rudy gave Dexter a moment to respond. "There were a couple of warehouse possibilities, one especially is perfect. It's in South Miami; deserted and out of the way. Plus I found a new place in Coral Gables. I'm going to be moving everything in today. You've got to come by and check it out."
It was difficult for Rudy to contain his enthusiasm about what he found and the fact that he's again connecting to his brother. Rudy was still very charged up from their new prospect together, that tonight he very well may test the waters of this new warehouse and leave Dexter a new gift for his appreciation.
"So, did you look into that man we were talking about?"

Dexter hadn't gotten much sleep that night. He wasnt used to such restless sleep. Having things keeping him awake. But after his afternoon with Rudy, he had felt energized, excited by the prospects ahead of him, of the idea that there was someone that he did connect with. Someone who saw him for what he really was, and accepted that.
Dexter had already been awake for a couple hours with the phone rang. He had just shoved in the last of his bagel into his mouth so it took him a few seconds to swallow (and wash it down with some orange juice) before he got to answering his phone. "Hello?" He said. "Rudy, hey...no you didnt wake me"
Dexter then listened as Rudy explained how well everything was going and told him about the places he found. "That sounds great...yeah I'd love to see it!" He said finding himself actually meaning those words. Usually he would be wondering why someone would think he'd care about these things, but this time he did want to see where his brother was going to live. "If you want I can help you move your stuff in" He offered.
Dexter smiled on the other end of the phone as Rudy asked about the man they discussed yesterday. "I did, I must say, good choice big brother"

Rudy appreciated Dexter's offer to help him move, but Rudy didn't want to burden Dexter and there wasn't too much to move anyway. He figured renting a truck would do the trick, all in one trip. "Thanks so much for offering, Dex. I mean that, but I got it covered."
Rudy had a big smile when Dexter complimented Rudy on finding the next victim; their first together. It was a really good feeling that Dexter gave his approval. It helps the entire situation and thinking about Dexter's code was something Rudy seriously considered to make Dexter more comfortable. "Thanks, I'm glad to know you approve."
Rudy described Marc's schedule and routine and suggested they should take him in the parking garage after work on a Friday. He works late on Fridays and he doesn't have family that would think he's missing. In fact, he often uses the weekends to be alone, whether that's catching up on movies, playing a couple rounds of golf or going out on his boat for the day. "So, if all that works for you, let's do it. And I promise you, I'll make sure that warehouse is perfect for us." Rudy said with a sly intonation.

Dexter listened as Rudy thanked him for his offer. He really did sound appreciative of it, it helped confirm in Dexter's mind that he had made a good offer. "Yeah sure...If you change your mind let me know, or tell me when you want me to come check it out."
Dexter then smiled as he thought more about the victim. When he had done the research on the guy, everything fit so perfectly. It probably wouldnt have been much longer before Dexter found this guy himself, he fit the typical profile of his victim so well. He appreciated that Rudy would consider that. "You're welcome. I really do approve, he's perfect" And by perfect Dexter of course meant someone horrible enough that even he believed they deserved to die.
Dexter listened to Rudy talk about the man's schedule, and suggest when and where they pick him up. "That should all work for me" Dexter said, knowing that an unforseen case could cause him to have to work but otherwise he should be clear. "How do you want to work the pickup...should we take him together or just meet at the warehouse?" Dexter wondered.

"I will let you know when I'm settled and you'll be the first person I'll invite." Rudy thought, 'first person'? Who else would Rudy have over, unless they're going to satisfy Rudy's urges and desires? Rudy had good work acquaintances, but preferred to not have 'friends', for the obvious reasons.
Rudy wondered which would be better for picking up the victim, as suggested by Dexter. "Well you mentioned you wanted to be right there with me, so how about we go there together and you can personally subdue him in whichever way you prefer; a needle or fishing wire, and you can put him in the car and I'll drive to the warehouse and we can go from there? I'd love to see you in action." Rudy said even more sly.
Rudy didn't seem to mind how they did it, as long as they were together. But he also wondered, this time out loud, "Should we use his car or take mine? If his car was missing, would that raise suspicion? And if we do use his car, after we dispose of him, we can take his car to this wrecking place I know... and have used before, so that way they'll never find the car. What do you think?"
Rudy truly wanted Dexter's opinion. They were both at this hobby a long time, but he valued his suggestions and experience.

“Great, I’ll bring the meat for dinner that day” Dexter said with a smile, thinking it would be a good housewarming gesture. He liked the idea that he’d be the first person that Rudy would invite over. He wasn’t usually anyone’s first choice for anything, not that it meant anything to him most of the time, but this he thought was nice.
Dexter listened to Rudy’s suggestion about going together to get the victim, and smiled as Rudy said he wanted to see him in action. Dexter felt the same way about Rudy. Getting to work together on something like this sent an excitement through him that he wasn’t used to feeling. He was a bit turned on by the idea. “I’ll try to give you a good show then” Dexter responded, already trying to think about what method would look the best, what was the most impressive. He was glad he had time to perfect his methods before showing them off to his brother. He had years of experience by now.
“The wrecking place sounds good, and with using his car for transportation we don’t have to be as careful about making sure he doesn’t leave behind any hairs or DNA” Dexter said approving of Rudy’s idea.

Rudy laughed, "Meat... the perfect housewarming gift."
Rudy smiled when Dexter said he wanted to give Rudy a show. "Dexter, any way you use will be perfect. And if you didn't like the way you did it, who is to say we couldn't try again?" Still the thought of them sharing their hobby together was exhilarating! Do people feel like this with other hobbies, like golf or mechanics?, Rudy thought.
Rudy nodded in agreement with Dexter's agreement with using the victim's own car. Then added, "And we have to make sure OUR DNA doesn't get left behind... just in case. You never can be too cautious, right?"
Wanting to move things along, Rudy suggested, "Well, today is Wednesday. Is this Friday too soon? Are you free or expected anywhere?"

Dexter wasnt used to feeling so excited about talking with another human being. But Rudy gave him those feelings, especially when he brought up the possibility of there being another time to try things out differently. "I still want our first time to be perfect"
"Exactly" Dexter agreed as his brother mentioned needing to be careful as well that they didnt leave behind their own DNA "That's where the wreckage site will come in handy" He said.
"Friday is good, Rita's taking the kids to a birthday party for one of Astors friends, so I'm off the hook for that night" Dexter said thinking the timing was perfect.

Rudy listened as Dexter said he wanted their first time to be perfect. "Oh I completely understand", Rudy said with a familiar smile.
"Great, the wreckage site it will be." Rudy was more excited. He still needs to check to make sure he has all the supplies they needed.
Rudy's smile widened when Dexter said he was free this Friday because of a kid's birthday party. "Even better. Marc usually finishes work around 9 PM and we can take him then. The parking garage is empty and there's isn't any security. It will be perfect, brother."
Rudy talked more about the meeting and said that he would have everything set up in the warehouse before hand. Additionally Rudy suggested having his car parked at the wreck site ready to go. And getting to the garage won't be a problem either.
"Do you have all the supplies you need? If not, let me know what I can do." Rudy asked genuinely. "Oh and I personally ensured the warehouse is a great place for us to work", Rudy said with a gleam in his eye.

Dexter knew that Rudy felt the same way about this experience as he said he understood Dexter's desire for it to be perfect. His older brother wanted this as much as he did. It was clear.
He listened as Rudy explained what time Marc got off from work and how that would be the perfect time to get him. "Are there any security cameras we need to worry about?" He asked knowing that just because there werent guards didnt mean they wouldnt have someone watching still. "Maybe we could meet up around 8 then, in case he gets out a little early that day" He suggested.
"Yeah, I think I've got everything. Do you need anything?" Dexter asked him. He smiled as Rudy said that he personally ensured that the warehouse would work for them. "Thank you...I trust you" He said, not used to saying those words to another person..and meaning them.

Rudy listened to Dexter with such a focused intent. "No, there aren't any security cameras. That makes this even more perfect." Rudy understood Dexter's caution.
"Sure, 8 PM it is. I'll be more than ready", Rudy said with a grin. "I have everything I need and some things I may use, but I plan on bringing all of it just so I had them there."
When Dexter thanked and trusted Rudy for ensuring the warehouse was safe and inconspicuous for them to use, Rudy wondered what Dexter would think if he knew just HOW he ensured the safety. After all the woman that he killed and dumped wasn't guilty of anything code of Dexter's. Would he look at him as a monster? Or would he let it go, since there was some discussion about it?
"Have you decided which method you're going to use? Or did you want to keep that a surprise?"

"It does sound perfect" Dexter agreed, glad to hear that they wouldnt have to worry about security cameras either. He had worked around them before, finding the blind spot in the cameras field of vision, but it did require more work, it was easier to not have to plan around them.
"You can see what strikes you at the moment" Dexter responded as Rudy explained how he might bring some things just in case he needed them. He was more than interested to see what Rudy used. Rudy had the upper hand here, already knowing everythinig that went into Dexter's ritual, where Dexter only knew how it looked when the work was done, he was excited to find out more.
Dexter listened to Rudy's next question as his brother wondered if he had chosen a method yet. "I think I'll leave a little bit of mystery..dont want you getting bored of me so soon" Dexter told him.

Rudy's mind was going a mile a minute as he and Dexter discussed the specifics of their first kill together. Rudy was more than excited and anxious, but he knew these things needed to be talked about because they didn't want to be careless and end up being caught.
"Wonderful", Rudy said as he listened and agreed with Dexter's take of the upcoming evening. Rudy laughed when Dexter said he'd get bored of him. "Dexter, I could never get bored of you or your rituals. They are all very exciting and will continue to be. No need to worry about that", smiled Rudy.
Rudy couldn't think about anything else. Tomorrow was Friday and the anticipation was nothing like Rudy ever experienced before. "So, tomorrow can't come fast enough, huh?"
